Mia was the first person to be nice to Ai in Mayfield really. She wasn't used to it at all. She became quite attached to her and started to see her as a mother. She was in Mayfield for a while and Ai always liked knowing she was there.
She was very sad when she was droned but she remained quiet about it.
Ai walked past Saki in the street and a conversation later Saki had declared herself Ai's friend. This was strange for Ai. Saki soon became a close and dear friend to Ai. She was dark, she understood being alone and things Ai was struggling with. She adopted Ai as a little sister in a sense.
Saki liked to braid Ai's hair and hug her. Ai wasn't used to hugs before she met Saki. Saki helped her a lot with her humanity and was the most important person to Ai for a long time.
When Saki was droned, Ai briefly lost control of her emotions and rage and went around burning things. She was talked down by Aaron but for a while she regressed into the little girl who simply wanted people to pay for hurting her.
Jane was a vampire that Ai befriend during the ten year Christmas skip in the first year. Even though they forgot why they'd become friends after it ended, they remained in contact and actually did become friends.
Jane was a person full of hatred and rage and also had a tragic past that Ai could relate to. Soon, she, Jane and Saki had formed into a little group of friends. Ai still had Saki around when Jane was droned so the loss wasn't as horrible as when she lost Saki. However Ai still misses her friend a great deal.
Ai dressed up as a vampire for Halloween because of Jane. This is probably why her costume included sparkles.
Kikuri was the first and only person from Ai's own world that showed up in Mayfield. She was in Ai's house as her little sister, which suited her well as back home Kikuri acted like an annoying little sister to Ai all the time.
In Mayfield, Ai tried to protect Kikuri as best she could. Which could be difficult at times. Ai cared a lot for the little girl, even as Kikuri destroyed things she liked and had a habit of kicking Ai's friends and saying Ai didn't need anyone but her.
She was droned and Ai refuses to believe that she is not safe at home. This is more for her own emotional stability because if she thought Kikuri was still trapped her, she might lose control of her emotions again.
A woman that was kind to Ai and also played games of marbles with her. She was fun to play with and Ai met her early on when she didn't know many people in Mayfield. She gave Ai the first present she's ever gotten, a charm bracelet with a small red orb, a butterfly and a heart. Ai still has it.
Ai met the girl at a slumber party she'd been invited to and the two soon started trading stories. Aisling was a fairy from Ireland that had lost her family when she was very young. Ai related to this and the two started to spend time with each other.
Aisling soon became Ai's best friend. Especially after the loss of Saki and Jane. They had things in common and unlike Ai, Aisling was almost always cheerful and happy and she did wonders in cheering Ai up when she was sad.
Aisling was droned and Ai lost her best friend. She's starting to wonder if she should bother trying to make friends anymore because it just hurts too much when they get taken away.
Aaron is a teenage boy she talked to one day. They talked a lot and he ended up telling her about his past and how he had no wish to go back home because he had nothing. Ai offered him a place as one of her companions and a place to return to, other then his own home when they managed to get out of Mayfield. He accepted and became Ai's newest companion.
He was a loyal follower and Ai appreciated having him in the town. He did his best to keep Ai safe and happy and even put up with Kikuri, even though she was nothing but rude to him.
He was droned however and Ai believes she failed him. She misses having him around very much.
When she first spoke to Japan she asked him whether or not he was responsible for the customs and traditions of his people. She wanted to know if he was responsible for creating things like the ritual that had ended her life, years ago. He claimed responsibility for his people and their actions. And in doing so, claimed responsibility for her, and her parents death.
Ai hated him for that. She told him she wanted to send him to Hell and she would if she was able to. Until she met him, she'd thought that all the people responsible for her death were killed by her years ago. However the idea that he was even somewhat responsible for everything that had happened to her, made her hate him.
He didn't hate her though. And as time passed they had strange conversations. She didn't understand why he didn't hate her and he didn't understand why she talked to him at all.
Japan kept an eye on her because she was his citizen. And as time passed they continued to talk. Ai started to keep an eye on him, not just because she thought that he was going to hurt her, but in case something happened to him.
He was droned before either of them really got to understand their relationship. She doesn't miss him, or at least she tells herself she doesn't. She misses the idea of having someone to hate and yet is glad she doesn't have to hate him if he is gone.
Shiki was one of the very first people to talk to Ai in the town and was therefore one of the first people to show her that people were capable of being kind and nice to her. It was strange, but something Ai needed to experience.
For years he was always around in Mayfield. They may not have talked a lot. But Ai was glad to know he was there.
He was droned, and Ai was sad to seee him go. Seeing yet another person from before her be droned and making her wonder if she was going to be here forever.
One of the replacement mom's Matsumoto was one of the best. She mothered Ai as though the girl were her own daughter. Ai wasn't used to it at first and was at first untrusting of her. However as time passed she grew used to being hugged and looked after and she soon grew to care for the woman a great deal. She started to see her a real mother.
It was a cruel shock to find her droned and Ai was very sad for a long time after that happened.
The first time they met, Ai ended up talking and becoming friends with Shirou. They went shopping for Halloween costumes together and talked a great deal. He told her that he was going to save her so that she wouldn't have to be the Hell Girl any more. She thought this was foolish but at the same time. No one had ever tried to help her before.
After a while though, and after going home for ten years or so, she came to accept her role as the Hell Girl and told him she didn't need to be saved from it. It was a fact, that she was going to have to accept.
He was droned and showed up as her brother, without any memories of her, for a short period of time. During that time he was as nice as he'd always been and Ai had been glad to see him again. When he was droned again, Ai was sad to see him go, but not as much as the first time.
A woman that was kind to her. Ai, being used to the kind people of Mayfield by now, was quickly befriended by the woman. However she was hired by the town to guard the highway during an event and showed her true colours when she gassed and killed Ai with no regret.
Ai re-learned a valuable lesson from that. You can't trust people. Especially humans. She lost a great deal of trust in humanity from the experience. However sought no revenge. She trusted the woman and that was her own fault for doing so. In her mind, she will get revenge when the woman died and will no doubt go to Hell for her life's actions. Ai likes to believe she's there right now.
A creep who wanted power from her. She didn't and couldn't give him any. On top of that he went around killing people for kicks. Slugger and Pokey killed him at one point. Ai was warned he might try to get revenge on them through her. However this didn't happen as the mage was droned. Mayfield finally picking the right person for once
Another version of her lived with Ai's best friend who is no longer here. After that her only connection to Taiwan was through Japan who is now gone. And now Taiwan is gone as well.
Ema was the mother in Ai's house for a while and Ai grew quite fond of her. However the woman was droned and woke up later in another house with no memory of Ai. Despite this she soon came to know Ai and Scout again and was still very nice. Ai views her as a mother figure and is also very defensive of her
She wishes that Ema were still living with her and Scout.
